Kynant’s first label night at Panorama Bar is all about the evolution and low-frequency spectrum of dub techno. Over ten years ago, label head Richard Akingbehin founded a high-quality platform that blends the genre’s historical depth with contemporary pastiche. Paul St. Hilaire aka Tikiman, plays a central role. As an iconic voice in Rhythm & Sound's pioneering productions, he shaped the symbiosis of Caribbean vibes and Berlin’s concrete minimalism like no other in the 90s. On the collaborative album w/ The Producers, recently released via Kynant, he once again demonstrates his timeless class by layering his voice over riddims by collaborators such as Mala and Aurora Halal, who is also performing this evening. As Parallel 9, Dutch DJ Steve Rachmad appears under his old dub techno alias, and Laura BCR grounds the space with flowing, deep ambient techno that resonates with subtle percussive echoes.
