Your Love

As one of the founding fathers of Chicago House, Lil Louis made club history with style-defining anthems like “Club Lonely” and “Blackout”. His 1989 audio-erotic masterpiece “French Kiss” remains unforgettable; despite a boycott by the British BBC, it stormed the top European charts and is still considered a blueprint for hypnotic, repetitive club sounds. It's recently been given a boost by Madonna, who sampled the classic in her recent single “I Feel So Free”, produced by Stuart Price and Arca. For this edition of Your Love, Lil Louis will be joined by Dominican-American DJ Cesár Toribio. The Berklee graduate and leader of the live ensemble Conclave fuses jazz, soul and Afro-Latin American rhythms in his DJ sets to create an organic, highly musical take on house music. He has also made a name for himself in Brooklyn with the community-oriented Public Service NYC block parties. The night will be rounded out by a performance from Afrohomo aka interdisciplinary, queer artist Kieron Jina. As usual, hosts Lakuti and Tama Sumo will bring the night to a close with their DJ sets.
