For this Faith Beat label night, Ryan Elliott is bringing three DJs to Panorama Bar for their first appearance behind the decks here. Italian DJ/producer Pancratio released the remarkable Automatic House on Ryan’s label in October. The album is a subtle deconstruction of classic house motifs, focusing less on peak-time effect and more on hypnotic repetition and microtonal variations. In his sets, he translates this studio aesthetic into a rhythmic continuity that glues you to the dancefloor. British artist Ploy breaks down linear structures with his characteristic affinity for bass. His productions, often heard on labels such as Hessle Audio, Timedance and his own imprint Deaf Test, oscillate between deconstructed UK garage and percussive techno. Ploy knows how to use sonic instability as a narrative element, allowing his sets to create a physical immediacy without ever descending into crude aggression. Also on the line-up is Berlin-based DJ Lara Fein, who founded her own label, A Strange Child, last year.
