Brazilian producer Marcal is one of the most exciting voices in contemporary techno. He combines tribal rhythms and psychedelic atmospheres with futuristic sound design, creating a sound that is deeply rooted in his Brazilian heritage and at the same time looks to the future. His sets are characterized by syncopated percussion and powerful low end. Releases on labels such as Rekids, Token and Enemy as well as his recent EP on Donato Dozzy's Spazio Nero reveal him as an artist with a profound understanding of the techno dancefloor with a style all his own. Marcal will be playing at Berghain tonight. House In The Dark is the title of DJ Holographic's debut full-length, recently released on her newly founded label Through the Veil. On the album, the Detroit-born and -raised DJ/producer merges the Afrofuturistic foundations of techno with a queer-feminist perspective, with astrology and themes such as self-discovery, healing and empowerment also playing a role. DJ Holographic will play one of her sets, ranging from house to disco to Detroit techno and electro, at Panorama Bar.
