Tonight, Live From Earth Klub is bringing a small festival line-up of bands and DJs from different generations and musical parallel universes. The New York band Fcukers, led by the charismatic Shanny Wise and supported by DJ/producer Jackson Walker Lewis, has quickly made a name for itself in New York nightlife. Their music combines influences from 90s/00s house, trip-hop, big beat and indie rock, inspired by acts such as Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers and Todd Terry. In September, their sensational six-track EP BAGGY$$ was released on Ninja Tune sublabel Technicolour, and they're now playing at Panorama Bar alongside DJs such as Kulør founder Courtesy and Canadian electroclash pioneer Tiga. At Berghain, alongside Live From Earth acts such as Gigola, MCR-T and Theo B3K of Brutalismus 3000, the lineup includes none other than British rave cult band Underworld, who may not be putting on their spectacular stage show, but are playing live nonetheless. Thirty years after their fantastic breakthrough album Dubnobasswithmyheadman, Karl Hyde and Rick Smith have just released their eleventh studio album, Strawberry Hotel, which is musically the best thing they've done in a long time. Even after more than three decades, their sound of amorphous, hypnotic techno, Dadaist lyrics and endorphin-laden anthems is uniquely captivating.
