Los Angeles-based producer Greg Broussard, aka The Egyptian Lover, is a pioneer of the early electro scene. With his razor-sharp 808 beats, melodic hooks and vocoder vocals, his tracks such as “Egypt, Egypt” from the mid-80s were the West Coast equivalent of the Miami bass and New York electronic funk of the time and are rightly considered part of the b-boy canon. To this day, he releases fresh boogie jams on his label Egyptian Empire and collaborates with acts such as The Exaltics and Moodymann. He is playing live at Säule for this weekend's Klubnacht. DJing on the main floor, Nørbak from Portugal has made a name for himself over the last six years by releasing effective, big-room-compatible techno tracks on the likes of Jeff Mills' Axis, Token, Mord and the label he co-runs, Hayes. Hailing from Helsinki is the Finnish-Bulgarian DJ/producer Katerina, who has put out wonderfully spacey Balearic house tracks on illustrious labels such as Rekids, Running Back, Cómeme, Tigersushi and her own imprint, Kotarak.
