Klubnacht

The album Disco Club is considered one of the most enigmatic masterpieces of electronic music. It was so far ahead of its time that when Rephlex reissued it in 2004, nobody could believe it had been recorded in 1977. Bernhard Fevre, who grew up in Paris, was inspired by the African clubs and rhythms of the city, and in creating his debut as Black Devil Disco Club, had only a small arsenal of electronic keyboards, a vocoder and looped conga drums at his disposal. The result was an epic journey into the depths of absurd electronic disco, marked by haunting vocals and twisted melodies. Since then, Fevre has released nine more albums in this style. For this weekend's Klubnight will be playing a live set at Säule. Also hailing from France is Berlin-based DJ/producer Perfo, who is making his Berghain debut. His releases on labels such as Mord, Illegal Alien and NRBK are defined by complex textures, tight beats and a ritualistic atmosphere.
