Klubnacht

Inspired by club sounds from Detroit, Berlin and the UK as well as post-punk, wave, EBM and electro, Phara creates techno tracks with pumping energy and drum sequences. His releases can be found on labels such as Soma, Planet Rhythm and his own label Phaar. The long-time Brussels Fuse club resident and vinyl DJ has been playing live shows for two years, where he uses a minimalist set-up, using the Korg EMX-1 groovebox, to achieve maximum impact on the dancefloor – live tonight at Berghain. Detroit's Luke Hess has been a reliable source of serious, dub-influenced techno for at least 15 years. His records on labels such as Echocord, FXHE, Planet E and his own DeepLabs testify to a deep understanding of deep electronic music and its technical execution – his background in engineering probably comes in handy here. After he had to cancel his scheduled gig at Berghain last August, we are delighted to be able to hear him this time at Klubnacht – alongside DJs such as Steffi and Radio Slave, on whose labels Hess has also released in recent years.
