Klubnacht

NYC Ballet-trained dancer, DJ and producer Giulia Fournier-Mercadante aka Gigi FM calls her work “gestural electronic music”. She perceives music mostly as movement and in different colours, which she combines in extremely hypnotic, deep techno sets. Already with her debut EP Magnetite, released last year on Bambe, she proved a certain artistic maturity: four tracks of sublime, transcendental techno tracks in the style of Sandwell District and the Italian hypno-techno maestri. For this weekend's Klubnacht, she will be playing with the likes of Clarisa Kimskii from New York. Deeply rooted in the US techno underground for over 20 years, she has been a resident DJ at the Brooklyn queer party series Merge since last year. Playing live up at Panorama Bar, Frenchman Sweely will set off his colorful fireworks of jazz, funk and pop-influenced house tracks alongside exceptional acts such as Actress as well as Sugar Free, who is his labelmate on Limousine Dream and Gene On Earth. And downstairs? That's where the coolest electro duo on earth, Miss Kittin & The Hacker, will perform their eternally seductive, new-wave tech poetry.
