LEISURE SYSTEM / FINEST FRIDAY

Auf die jüngste 5-Jahre-Party folgt auch gleich das runde Jubiläum: auch in der 20. Ausgabe der »Leisure System«-Reihe bringt die LS-Crew erneut vertraute wie frische Namen mit ins Berghain. An vorderster Stelle steht Paul Woolfords Deutschlanddebüt als SPECIAL REQUEST. Auf eine Reihe von 12"-Singles ließ Woolford im Oktober 2013 das Special Request »Soul Music«-Album folgen, dessen Klangspektrum – vom englischen Piratenradio inspiriert – von Jungle über Hardcore, von Rave zu Techno reicht. Mit TIM EXILE ist ein alter Bekannter der LS-Reihe dabei: seit den ersten Parties ist Exile dabei, ein Set zum runden Geburtstag macht da Sinn – besonders, weil er mit der »Harmuni«-EP sein erstes Release seit rund vier Jahren mitbringt. Wo veröffentlicht? Auf Leisure System, klar! Auch der britische Grime-Produzent VISIONIST hat im Juli die »Snakes«-EP auf LS veröffentlicht, mit seinen schmutzigen, gebrochenen Rhythmen ist er auf der großen Berghain-Anlage natürlich gut aufgehoben. Mit Danois Martin alias KOMMUNE1 ist noch ein weiterer Brite an Bord: seine Produktionen stehen für gewaltigen Techno, Lone griff für seine Magic Wire Recordings zu. Mit Sets der LS-Residents BARKER und N>E>D sollte das eine runde Sache werden. Etwas unrunder geht es beim »Finest Friday« in der Panorama Bar zu: SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO lassen die Synths zu Hause und spielen stattdessen ein DJ-Set, der Leipziger Gunnar Wendel alias KASSEM MOSSE bringt hingegen sein Live-Setup mit. Daneben dann ein kleines Plan B Recordings-Special: der New Yorker DJ SPIDER und seine Labelpartnerin Lola Rephann alias DAKINI9 werden – ähnlich wie Kassem Mosse – für dunklere Kontraste in Sachen House sorgen. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - After their 5th anniversary in August, Leisure System are back and celebrating their 20th party at Berghain/Panorama Bar. Topping the list of names is Paul Woolford, who will be making his German debut as Special Request. Following a series of incendiary 12" singles, Woolford released the Soul Music LP as Special Request, inspired by the golden age of UK pirate radio and the hardcore continuum from jungle to rave to techno. Also on the bill is Tim Exile, who earlier this year released the Harmuni EP on the Leisure System record label. A friend of Leisure System since the early days, Tim will be celebrating his first release in over four years with this live gig in celebration of reaching the 20th party milestone Another member of the Leisure System family will play in the form of Visionist, the South London grime producer whose dirty, broken rhythms will be an ideal match for the Funktion One system. In addition, Leeds native Kommune1 will be delivering gargantuan techno ahead of the release of his Kronos EP on Leisure System on December 2nd, following records on GnD and Lone's Magic Wire imprint. Your favorite Leisure System residents N>E>D and Barker round up up another electric LS bash. »Finest Friday« in Panorama Bar will play host to SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO, KASSEM MOSSE, DJ SPIDER and DAKINI9.
