PROMOTE DIVERSITY

- - - ENGLISH VERSION BELOW - - - Menschenrechte sind nicht verhandelbar – oder etwa doch? Jeden Tag erreichen uns alarmierende Nachrichten über die staatlich legitimierte Unterdrückung von Schwulen, Lesben, Transgender und ihren UnterstützerInnen in Russland. Seitdem Putin mit einstimmiger Billigung des Parlaments ein Gesetz gegen »Homosexuellen-Propaganda« unterzeichnet hat, stehen dort nicht nur Versammlungs- und Medienfreiheit auf dem Spiel, sondern ganz klar auch das Leben und die Unversehrtheit von Menschen, die nicht ins gewünschte Raster der Regierung fallen. Intoleranz ist jedoch kein territoriales Problem – wir wollen die Entwicklungen in Russland als Aufhänger nehmen, um mit der »Promote Diversity« Party ein eindeutiges Zeichen zu setzen. Diversität und Toleranz sind Grundwerte, auf die sich die Club- und Musikszene seit jeher stützt. Manchmal muss man daran erinnern, dass die erkämpften Freiheiten nicht selbstverständlich sind – weder in Deutschland noch in unseren Nachbarländern noch weltweit. Auch hier müssen noch Freiräume geschützt werden, um freie Orte zu erhalten. Ein empfindliches soziales Gefüge, welches ständiger Aufmerksamkeit bedarf und Woche für Woche neu entsteht. Deswegen werden wir die kompletten Eintrittseinnahmen der »Promote Diversity«-Veranstaltung an die global agierende Organisation »All Out« spenden. All Out wurde vor zwei Jahren gegründet und hat seitdem über 50 Kampagnen für LGBT-Rechte in 18 verschiedenen Ländern geführt, von Argentinien, Bulgarien, Irak, Russland bis Nigeria und der Ukraine. Mit 1,7 Millionen Unterstützern weltweit kann All Out inzwischen auf ein großes Netzwerk zurückgreifen, das zur Stelle ist, wenn es irgendwo brennt – und gleichzeitig Rücksicht auf regionale Besonderheiten nehmen. Für mehr Liebe und Gleichberechtigung – hier und überall. Every day yet more news reaches us about state authorized oppression of lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender people and their supporters in Russia. Since Putin ratified the new law against »homosexual propaganda« with full parliamentary support, not only the freedom of assembly and of the media is at risk but clearly also the life and integrity of human beings, that do not fit into the desired formula supported by the government. Intolerance is not simply a territorial problem – but we would like to take recent developments in Russia as the mark to send out a clear signal with the »Promote Diversity« party. Equality on all levels and tolerance are basic values that the club and music scene has always supported. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that the level of freedom we have achieved cannot be taken for granted, be it here in germany or elsewhere in the world. Areas of freedom even in this country still need to be protected, so that a liberal culture can be preserved, a sensitive social structure is always in flux and needs constant attention, week after week. For this reason we will donate the entire admission charge of the Promote Diversity party to the globally active »All Out« organization. All Out was founded 2 years ago and has already conducted 50 campaigns to support LGBT rights in 18 different countries, Argentina, Bulgaria, Iraq, Nigeria, Russia and the Ukraine among them. With 1,7 million supporters worldwide All Out boasts a huge network and can be in the right place when urgent action is required and combine this with specific local knowledge. For more love and equality – here and everywhere! Worldwide a lot of clubs and events take part under the motto »Promote Diversity«.
