- - - English version below - - - Darkstar zeigten im Jahre 2010 mit ihrem Debütalbum »North« (Hyperdub) als erstes Produzententeam, dass das Subgenre Dubstep der Mainstream-Popmusik aufregende neue Klangfarben und Rhythmen liefern kann. Die Integration des Sängers James Buttery sorgte in der Szene für einiges Kopfschütteln, Sängern wie James Blake oder Jamie Woon ebnete das Trio aus Manchester damit aber den Weg in die Popwelt. Mit ihrem Auftritt im Berghain verabschieden sich Darkstar nun von deutschen Konzertbühnen und machen sich an die Produktion des zweiten Albums, das im nächsten Jahr auf Warp erscheinen wird. Wild Beasts sind schon einen Schritt weiter: Ihr drittes Album, bei Domino veröffentlicht, zeigt erneut, dass das Quartett in einer eigenen Liga spielt. Keine andere englische Band vermag es, solch kunstvolle, schöne, feine und gleichzeitig opulente Gitarrenpopsongs zu schreiben, und niemand singt im Falsett wohl weicher, zarter und anrührender als Hayden Thorpe. Den Abend eröffnen die aus Paris stammende Butterclock und ihr Landsmann o F F, die beide zuletzt in der Kantine am Berghain einen fantastischen Kurzauftritt im Vorprogramm von How To Dress Well absolvierten: schwerer, düsterer, auf verlangsamten Hiphop-Beats basierender, hypnotischer Pop - ein wahrer Geheimtipp, der die große Bühne im Berghain mehr als verdient. And with singer James Buttery joining Darkstar, they made a much discussed move within the Dubstep community – while they made it much more easier for musicians such as James Blake and Jamie Woon to make their way within the world of pop music. With their second live show at Berghain Darkstar are saying goodbye to German concert venues and will be focussing on their sophomore album due to be released on Warp Records in 2012. Wild Beasts are already one step ahead. Their third, Domino Record Co released album proofs once again that they’re playing in a league of their own. There’s no other english band capable of writing such beautiful, artful and opulent guitar pop music – and there's no falsetto singer such as Hayden Thorpe with his soothing and touching signature voice. Opening up will be Paris hailing Butterclock and fellow frenchman o F F. Both of them lately delivered a fantastic support set for How To Dress Well at Berghain Kantine. Their musical approach comes with heavy and dark hypnotic pop elements, combined with slowed down HipHop beats. This is a real sleeper that truly needs to be brought to the big stage of Berghain.
